Power Steering Hose

Just replaced my power steering pump on my 00 montana POS. Then I see leaking further back. After taking it all apart (again) I have determined that the High Pressure hose is leaking, rather bad, about half way down the rubber part. So my question is how in the blue blazes does one remove the line from the rack without having a lift or rubber arms? Is it accessible easier if the driver side tire is removed? Any help appreciated. I really don't want to pay someone to work on this van, it has 240,000 miles by the grace of God and my tender loving care over the last ten years.

Removing the tire may give you some more room, but you're in for a fight not being able to get the car in the air.

Hey GM tech guy, with the thing in the air, how hard is this job? I mean it is like impossible laying on your back as far as I can tell.

It can be tough still. You need to seperate the steering shaft from the steering gear, then lower the rear of the engine cradle. This will give you the room you need to get to the hose. Make sure everything is undone up top before raising the van and dropping the cradle down.
