Here's the kit.

Starts out like this. Since this body was not raced I will cut off the roof.

Have to cut out the windshield.

Fixed the rear corners of the interior opening. Also fixed the holes in the top of the front fenders and added some bars to support the tonneau cover.

Now there's something you don't see every day. An old AMT kit at that.
Keep posting your progress.

Actually Greg this kit has recently been re-released and you can probably find it at your local Hobby Lobby. It is a very basic kit though. The seats are molded into the tub and it has no opening hood or engine.

I had to make a lip around the tub opening to attach the tonneau cover to the model.
First I installed a small rod around the opening.

Then I attached a strip on top of the rod to create the lip I needed.

Now I can cut out a piece of handkerchief just a little bigger than the opening and stuff the edge under the lip and secure it with white glue.
Then take some thread and attach the cover to the bars going across the tub to tighten up the cover but still have it laying the way a canvas cover would over a 1:1 vehicle.
