They've been out for a few years and I've been thinking of getting one. I'm surprised no one has posted here yet!

Some info on the Equinox forum, lots of gas mileage complaints, Consumer Reports seems to like the latest ones, with 4wd and the 4 cyl. it seems to be underpowered at 4100#.

I know 2 people that had the 2005 and both had the tranny go out at about 67k. They may have fixed this problem by now but still I would not be happy if it was my car. Other then that seemed to be good. I would check the Ford Edge. Diff in price though.

Are you talking about the same vehicle? The Terrain wasn't made until 2010.

I'd probably go for the 4-banger with just FWD. I've lived this long without AWD through Northeast winters, so no need for it now! haha

I on one its a 2011 with 26,000 miles and we love it. We have the 4cyclinder that gets between 30 and 32 miles to the gallon, has plenty of room and I'm a 6ft 300 pound man that even has plenty of room if I ride in the back. I worryed when I bought it about the power of the 4 cyclinder but you can't hardly tell the differance between the 4 or 6 cyclinder. We've had absolutely no problems yet. My sister bout a 2011 equinox and had transmission slipping problems at 5000 miles. Good Look Fiserman

It's wonderful to hear that you're having such a great experience with your Terrain, fiserman! Many more happy miles!

If I can answer any questions about the Terrain (I know you're looking for owner experiences, caddydaddy), please let me know.

No I was guessing what it was. I didn't see you say anywhere what car you where talking about. I just saw someone say Equinox.

Well, this is the Terrain forum, haha!

Did the older Equinox have the same 6 speed transmission that they have now?

Thanks! I'm headed to the New Orleans auto show this weekend. Hopefully there will be someone there that can answer any other questions I come up with.
