Hello,
I just bought a 2008 Ford Fusion SE, FWD, 4 CYL. It gets a lot better gas mileage than my 2003 Oldsmobile Alero that I traded in, however I am wondering what I can do to maximize the gas mileage.
I talked to O'reilly Auto Parts, and they suggested putting in a cold air intake, a little over $300 for a K&N cold air intake. I know that will increase the power itself, however will it actually increase the gas mileage?
Is there anything else that I can do to the car in order to increase the gas mileage, if so, what?
Thank you for your time.
Jacob.

Nothing like blatant spamming. I would leave the car as is, lighten up on the throttle a touch. Not too familiar with these cold air intakes, I think you have to be careful not to over-oil the element?

You'd have to have a healthy mpg increase to recoup the $300 intake cost in a reasonable amount of time.

Don't sucker in on fuel saving junk. As RIP tells, drive right.
