'94 Lebaron GTO - My check engine light goes on intermittently, sometimes stays on, sometimes goes right back off. No symtoms. Diagnostic code 55 - basically no code. Anyone else have this problem"

Have you tried to retrieve codes while the CEL is lit?

Probably a false code or maybe an forthcoming problem but I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure all electrical connections especially grounds are clean and tight. I would also run some fuel system cleaner in it occasionally. Good luck.

Sounds like a good idea, but the light is too intermittent. Either a false alarm or, as suggested by another, a bad ground. If the latter, something is going to quit.:frown:

Doughert0, how is it running now? Any changes? Let us know and good luck.

I think your idea that I have a bad ground has merit. My radiator fan has been running intermittently - should run in town when temp goes over (I think) 230, or when the AC is running. However I have had some near overheats because the fan wouldn't run. Pulled the assembly to get the shroud number so I could order a new fan, but when I put it back in, worked fine. Drove around about an hour, fan came on every time it should, including when the temp gage reached third tick.

Right now, everything is working fine, but I suspect a bad ground somewhere, which will probably rear up again. Also, the bad ground could be internally in the fan motor. I'll try wringing the circuit tomorrow, but have little hope until the problem re-surfaces.

I'll post when I find something out.
