I just repaired and replaced the transmission a month ago. It is a 96' Chrysler town & country 3.8l /604 trans. the overdrive hub in the trans snapped in two "mechanical failure". Took it out and the repair shop and they did a thorough inspection said the rest of the trans. was fine other than the overdrive hub, replaced the broken parts with new and upgraded parts. It has been running fine up until yesterday starting all the time but now nothing.:runaround: Cranks over strong I haven't checked for spark yet. It smells like it is flooding. Could it be the Crank positioning sensor? since it mounts in the trans bellhousing could it have been too close and rubbed or broke the end so it doesn't read properly? does it need a shim? after I put it back in it had a rubbing/ tinging noise that it didn't have before.:1zhelp: I don't have money to go out and get another rig need to fix what I have going crazy!:banghead:

1996ctnc, could be Crankshaft position sensor. You really need to check for spark and do a little detective work before a real diagnosis though. Sorry about your troubles.

I jumped the gun... duh! It was an easy fix. I found out that the fuel line had popped off under the car. I replaced the fuel filter last summer and must not have pushed the lines on all the way. That was the "flooding" smell. Checked all the fuel lines made sure they were all properly pushed on and problem SOLVED. I should have done more investigatinbg before I cried for help. Thanks for the reply.:bigthumb:
