1995 Nissan SE.. no cruise control

Still working out a few glitches on this 1995 Nissan Se pickup. 6 cyl automatic. Engine type...VG30E. Cruise control won't work..There's and "on and off' button to the left of the steering wheel on the dash with a green light that comes on when you turn it on...which it does. the other controls are on the steering wheel. When you go the desired speed and press the "set speed' button on the steering wheel. You may feel a VERY slight surge( like it wants to engage the cruise control) but it never does. The little green "cruise" light in the dash never comes on either. I was asked if I had brake/stop lights when I applied the brake pedal.. which I do..Appreciate any and all help... I'm starting to pull my hair out...:runaround:...Pete

I don't know if this helps, but my 95' xe king cab had no cruise either until I changed all of the rear tailights (brake, directional and reverse lights)I believe there are 3 different bulbs that go on each housing. I also removed all the burnt out (high mount brake) bulbs on top of the cab. As soon as I did that i had cruise again.
