Need help: Car alarm installation

I want to install a simple car alarm on my 00 GP se v.6 3.1L car but I have no idea what I am doing. Hey, I am a fast learner and I done most of the mechanical work on my car. Any suggestions like wiring diagram, installation steps, etc.?

I'm pretty sure most alarms come with an installation diagram (all of them work under the same principle but not in the exact same way). So a good place to start would be knowing the exact model of alarm you'll be installing.

Also have in mind that some manufactures will warranty their equipment ONLY if it was installed by some "knowledgeable/certified" technic. Yeah right...

Once you figure out which one you'll get I'll be glad to help! I don't know, but you might be able to install an OEM alarm from another GP at the junkyard; I'm pretty sure somebody else will let you know if it's possible.
