Thinking of getting one of these Bonneville's any known problems with these V8 beasts it has 65,000 miles extremely clean there asking $12,500.

any thoughts would be appreciated!!

Private or dealer(GM)?

This engine/transmission/options is expensive to fix......would recommend an extended used car warranty, from a REPUTABLE insurer(get in writing, what is covered and what isn't to avoid confusion later).....believe me, all warranties are not the same......

Dealer(not GM), and i don't think they offer a warranty, i was thinking that too it would be expensive to repair.

food for thought....

Reason why I ask if it was a GM dealer, is because if it is not, a GM dealer might not honor your warranty.....they might want you to pay the bill, and then you get reimbursed by the insurance company....

This is an 8 year old vehicle, and you probably don't know the history of the car.......the electronics in this car are expensive......whether it's a control module or control head(like an HVAC head).....

Any used vehicle is a crap shoot.....but $12-13K is not pocket change.....you could buy it an never have a problem......then again, you might have things start to break down....

It's like my wife's car.....it's 8 years old, but she bought it new....it's well maintained, and I know the vehicle......I have no problem keeping it a few more years because I know the history, and I know how it's been driven and taken care of......you never know that when you buy an 8 year old used vehicle....

Right i agree,we wanted to find a SSEI or SLE 03-05 but there far and few between for some reason but I'm seeing allot of these GXP's maybe for that reason, money pits,oh well keep looking i guess see whats out there don't need to jump on the first thing that's out there.

The N* can be an ok engine... But even the " Improved Design " still had issues and could suddenly have head gaskets issues... I have seem some of these N* do 200k without blinking and eye and with almost nothing for problems... I have seen some that you could not keep up with in terms of issues and even with low miles... Its a 50 / 50 mix the way i look at it... 50% chance you get a good one and 50% chance you get one with many issues...

I would steer clear of the N* GXP Bonneville and try to find an 03-05 SLE or 03 SSEi if at all possible...

One of our guys bought a Tri Coat White/Gold GXP, I believe it has a bad N*... This car is going to have the L67 Supercharged swapped into it...

I have an 03 SLE and like it... Wish I had the L67 but so far I have not had much trouble with mine so can't complain... It just starts and goes....lol

Is that a 3500, 3800, 3900 or is that the 3.6 VVT?

Either way not a bad choice at all... And the LTZ is the cream of the options crop... Loaded loaded loaded...
