After about 6 years away from the plastic, and smell of paint and glue, I decided to attempt a 'comeback' into modelling. Dusted off this Tamiya kit from a small pile of models I had collected when I was actively building. Having lost all my modelling gear due to some heavy rain, I had to buy all the basics again.

It was fun getting back into it...and frustrating at the same time. Made a number of errors along the way: bought the incorrect nib for the Sharpie and ruined the panel lines, polished through the raised lines along the door and had a weird reaction to filling in the spoiler holes on the trunk (was fine when I applied the primer but then the putty kinda rose up after I started painting - go figure). But I'm putting it down to the 're-learning' process! :naughty:

Painted TS-8 from the can and added the Hobby Design P/E kit (I must say the amount of after market stuff has sure grown in the last 6 years). I had planned for the hood and side mirrors to be carbon-fibered, but after 2 abysmal attempts at C/F'ing the hood, I decided to leave well enough alone and painted it semi-gloss black.

Apologies for the lousy pix, rather overcast here.

Looks very sober, but nice. What problems did you have with the CF decals?

Thanks guys.

First time with the SMS CF, I fiddled around too much and ripped it. Second time around, everything was fine - however, I left it out to dry and I guess it was too hot and the CF looked like it was almost burnt with small rips all over the place.
