I'd like to welcome you to my BMW E36 Touring M3 Build.
This is my absolute favorite car of all time so I had to build one.
I Love the E36 Touring but prefer it with the M kit on it so for this build I'll be using a Tamiya BMW 325i which I've had a while hoping to build this kit and a Revell BMW M3 for the body kit and wheels and maybe a few other parts. after I've completed the touring I'll but the standard bodykit onto the Revell kit to make a standard BMW E36 Coupe.
I can't wait to have this built but it may be a long ride as I will only really have Sundays and some Saturday evenings to work on it.
Let's get started...
These are the kits:

Some mock ups:

And the build starts...
It was scary to have to do this but the rear of the touring does differ from the saloon.

and finally the first tiny bit of progess...

Some plasticard cut to size ready for some shaping.
And an Idea of how I want it to look:

I've ordered a kit just for the BBS RG's but not sure what size they will be... if the RG's from the donor kit are big enough they will be the wheels I'll use on this build otherwise I'll go with the M-Sport ones
I hope you'll enjoy the build as much as I'm going to enjoy building it.

It's a very unusual project. I'm a big fan of the E36 too. Good luck with this build.

I think you cut it too close - could have left rear-mid-pillar as well...

Thanks for the replies.
360 - I did try to keep the rear mid pillar on there but it was so tiny that it snapped off while I was sanding I still have it on the other side and still have the peice thst came off. I'll be reusing it.

WOW!!!! i love Touring Bimmers, so I'll keep my eye on this for sure. ;)
As for the ///M kit, be careful, Revell/Dragon/Hasegawa's molds (///M3, Coupe, Compact, 320i) are a bit narrower than Tamiya/Revell's 325i, I know this as I've got a revell's 325i with ///M kit, and I noticed this.
Keep on working and good luck!!! :)
Cheers, James.
