hello all im new to this site. i have recently noticed that my wife's 2003 Ford Taurus SES V6 OHV, valve covers are leaking oil. The car has over 100,000 miles on it. looked at a haynes service manual and it said that the valve covers have a gasket built in and should last the life of the engine. guess was just wanting to reassure that i can replace them and if any one has changed a set how much time it would take, weekend project or week long project?
Any help would be much appreciated,
JJay

You need to remove the upper intake manifold to get to the valve covers, and the gaskets are replaceable. The factory service manual identifies a couple of areas where you need to apply RTV when reinstalling as well.
If you'd like a copy of the procedures from the factory service manual, send me a Private Message with the request AND an e-mail address for you.
