Yep I'll be there! Speedway on Saturday night and Pukekohe on Sunday. Yeeeeeha!

"Local favourite Greg Murphy grabbed provisional pole position on Friday for the New Zealand round of the Shell Series V8 Supercars at Pukekohe.
Murphy steered his Kmart Holden to the fastest lap of the day of 56.95 seconds.
That time eclipsed the previous V8 record at this circuit, set by Glenn Seton in 1996 when a dozen teams made the journey for some exhibition races."

Murphs team lodged a protest :argue: after the first race (they knew they had won) and won the protest giving the race to Murph who then went on to win races 2 and 3 for a complete victory in this round

Murph:monkeypis AUSSIES @ Pukekohe

Wasn't it great to see Murphy winning all 3 races.
Even better to see the Holdens kicking the Fords arses again !!!

I thought it was pretty good , its funny that alot of people who would normally go did not because of the stupid rules there were , like no chilly bins ( eskies) even if they had no alcohol in them , you had to empty them to take any food in , they only sold VB and Fosters while inside , for $4 a can and you could only buy 2 cans at a time . a hamburger was $6.80 . but well done Murphy , I am normally a Ford supporter but was happy that a NZer did so well .

yeah they certainly did make money from spectators , I did not go in but my mate lives right beside the track so we had a bit of a barbque and watched them on tv while listening to them , I am glad I was not rained on on Saturday , that was a huge shower . talking to my brother who was near the hairpin , he said that Ambrose showed the most skill , but his car did not have near the power of the HRT/K Mart cars. Murphy holds the outright lap record I think in a single seater . I was surprised that Radisich did not do better.

I can't tell if ur being serious....or taking the piss! :hehe:

I love the paint colours, that black/silver looks hella cool! He should forget about any sponsors and leave it like that! :)

....but if him & Cromley keep crashing the car, they might need the money hehe :p

Well, I must say that I have a new appreciation for the V8 Supercars. Any car that can get around Puke in under a minute, is fast. These cars were going around Puke faster than Racing Ray's Porsche....wow:eek:

As far as Holden or Ford goes......I couldn't give a monkey's. They are both the same to me.

As far as Skaife goes, put him back into a GTR, and I'll chear him on :)

It seemed a waste of time and money, that they went to all the bother to bring over all the V8's for a crappy under 1 minute circuit though. Why couldn't they have used the extension bit at Puke, make the circuit a little more interesting and a bit longer?

I went :D I was on the Skyline forum about a year ago till I recently got a Silvia.
Go Murphy, he killed everybody. Man Craig Lowndes got magled in the first race and still manage to get tenth place from 24th.

I was there on Saturday, and got absolutely soaked, trust Kiwi weather, sunburnt in morning sneezing in the afternoon :)

I was so close to getting Paul Radisich's autograph but I didn't think it was him, I feel so stupid.

lol the no chilly bin rule sucked, but luckily my dad's the team manager for one of the v8 touring cars,so we just put all our booze in the truck before it went into the pit's so we didnt have to buy the ripoff beer at the track;)
