O2 sensor issue 2002 Silverado

I have two O2 sensor codes: PO141 O2 sensor heater circuit

bank1 sensor2, PO161 Bank2sensor2. Do I need to replace

both sensors? Thanks for any info:runaround:

code relates to post cat 02 sensors heater.check both post cat 02 heater voltage and grounds.check for B+ to pink wire with key on to both post cat 02 sensors and check both heater grounds black wire.probe positive meter to pink wire and neg meter to black wire at connector with disconnected and key in on position.check under hood fuse box 15 amp 02 fuse b for blown fuse.I would check here first because fuse provides power to both post cat 02 heaters.what side engine?4.3?

you must check the wires/connectors to the O2 sensors. the fuse blown will cause your codes. the wires are / have defects in most cases. fuses here don't just blow. see if the harness to sensors are proper , and that no slices have been made to adapt a generic O2 sensor to the OEM connector/wiring.

must check voltage and ground to troubleshoot circuit.then proceed from there.

Thanks for the info guys. Been working 12 hr. days since I posted the question,so have'nt had a chance to do any testing. The truck is all stock with a 4.8L auto. Will let you know what I find.

jcAT you hit the nail on the head! Harness dropped onto front driveshaft while I was plowing and chafed the pink wire. Fixed wire,replaced fuse,reset codes. So far so good! Thanks for saving me a bunch of money on sensors I did'nt need :tongue:

most times driverside O2 gets into trouble . good luck..
