Progressive Snapshot discount: Is it worth it?

Okay, so I've gone from having a perfectly clean driving record with no accidents to having 2 in the last 2 years. As a result, my current insuance carrier wants to drop me from the policy and I have begun the process of finding a replacement company.
On a whim, I did a quick qoute from Progressive and the result wasn't that staggering, but they offer the Snapshot discount where you plug in their little monitor into your car's OBD port and drive for 6 months. Supposedly after 30 days, if your driving habits are acceptable you get "up to 30% discount".
So, the purpose of this poll is to see who among the AF community has tried this and have they seen any benefit to it? Or did it hurt you? I'd like to know and I think this would be a of great benefit to anyone who is researching this new type of discount.
Or is it a gimmick to get you to sign with them and then after the 30 days of you driving like Miss Daisy, you get nothing except the same high premium?
Please respond! Thanks!
