2003 Ford Escape help

hi everyone i need a little bit of help with a 03 4x4 escape. the 3.0 motor went out in it due to the junk cats that was on it so now im looking to replace the engine. i would like to know what year engines work in it. i can get one out of a friends 2008 thats totaled but the engine still runs fine. it looks like the same engine but i just dont know with it being a 08 if everything will line up and if its got all the same plug ends to match the one im taking out. any help would be good so i can get it back up and running

hello again i just found a 3.0 out of a 2006 escape that has 54000 miles on it for 500 and wanted to know if it would work in my 2003 escape?
