Yamaha V-Max

Today I finished this Aoshima Yamaha V-max 1/12.

I painted it with Fiat 599 New Orleans Blue and Opel quartz silver and clearcoated it with 2K. All Sikkens automotive paints.

I lost the headlight, so I had to find a solution for a new one. The partsbox contains a lot of headlights from cars, so I used two of them and glued them together. I think it's a cool front now :D

The kit is a very nice one. The fittment is just good and I think the details are also good. I used the HobbyDesign PE set for it and I must admit this is really nice addition to the kit. I had a lot of problems with all the small trim parts on the engine but overall it looks great. The discbrakes are the best parts from the set.

I really love the finished model. I think the blue and silver is a good combination and it makes it more ''custom''.

I had a neighbour driving this bike years ago, it has always impressed me, especially the engine volume, which is precisely what aoshima missed o,n the kit, the frame space isn't occupied as it shoud be, a pain... Especially you did a great paint work and not only on details, even if I don't really like the blue on the wheels...

Beautiful build of an awesome bike! I just wish someone would make a model of the new V-Star version....
