Gasket - exhaust manifold to head

1995 Plymouth Neon 2.0L SOHC, ATX, Highline, Build date: 2/94(!)...

Question: Upon removal of the exhaust manifold from the heads, there was NO gasket at all. Was this common practice for this year/engine/build?

IIRC, the SOHC engines didn't utilize the gasket. There is one you can use and I did when I did my HG job.

Thanks! Good to know. When I put it back together, I'm going to use a gasket though.

That's what I did. Good luck.
