How to remove old decals?

How do i remove old decal of my models without striping or damaging the paint job?

If there is no clear coat on the model and you want to remove all the decals, you could soak it in some water and the decals will lift off as the water works on them.

I also beleive a good couple of coats of Microset will lift old decals. Providing of course there is no coating over them. I have also read of using tape to remove them.

The tape method works great depending on the decals though, if there has been microset/sol used on the decals, neither water nor tape will remove them effectively, unfortunately.

do what "leo" did in catch me if you can. put it in one big tub of hot water.. ..
but i guess there was no clear coat on those planes

naaa no clear coat its one of my old ones that i want to fix up now that i've learnt heaps here :P
