This has been driving me nuts I'm trying to find a chrom grille for my 1996 chevy cheyenne. right now it has the gray grille with square sealed beam headlights and I can't seem to find any chevy grilles that aren't for a silverado with the rectangular composite lights. all the places online that I have talked to have all said "o the pic might not match the actual product" but they never asked if it was a cheyenne or silverado and the pic always shows a silverado grille.

so my question is this does a aftermarket or chrome grille even exist for a chevy cheyenne with square sealed beam lights? or am I just crazy?

BigT5, I don't think I've ever seen a chrome Cheyenne grill. That being said I think your grille looks better in my opinion. Usually everyone paints them body color but I think a good "chrome" paint followed by a clearcoat would look pretty good. Just a thought.

how well does chrome paint turn out? I have been wanting to get some and try it on something for a while

BigT5, looks good to me just clean it good before you paint it, and then use some clearcoat afterwards. It doesn't look like chrome really but it is a big improvement over the dull gray. Take care.

Advertising it as a work truck, Chevy didn't offer the WT grille in chrome to keep costs down for the buyer. Cheaper to replace too if it ever got crunched up.

"Chrome" paints just aren't the same as a real chrome treatment...you can't replicate a chrome plating in a can. But it can look quite a bit nicer than the cheap-looking gray or when painted the body color.

Hope it worked out for you.

Also and alternitive to chrome, you could paint it a dark shade of black, I have a 93 WT and it looks great if you paint the rims, grill and bumpers a dark coat of black!
Good luck!

The blackout treatment is cool, but I am sure in your vicinity that there is a chrome plating shop that would do it for you.
