[Revell] 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C.

Hi guys :)

My first kit that isn't by Tamiya, and my favourite car of all time, so a lot of pressure here. :P So far I've removed mold lines, primed, sprayed and Lacquered the hood, and primed and sprayed the body. Haven't lacquered it because I ran out of it after doing the hood. >> Bit of a hassle having to paint every part which you don't with Tamiya, but that's all part of the fun :P I leave you with this pic for now, as my camera died after this one. Once I've made more work on the body, I shall share more. :P
Oh and a small question, is Tamiya compound any good? I was thinking of buying some, there's a pack of 3 (rough/coarse, fine, finish) on eBay but I spent my money on an R34 and Mine's decals. Is it worth waiting for?

Looking good so far. I guess you really like blue cars...

Compounds are really useful and I use them on every model (only that I use a cheap one that is made in my country). Just be sure NOT to sand or polish over metallic paints. If color is metallic, always add a good amount of clear, leave it to dry/cure completely, then go with the wetsand/polish/compounds/whatever. If you don´t have the money right now you can keep the body on the side and work on the rest of the model or on other models till you get the body polished. Also beware that compounds wark as sanding paper. You can rub thru the paint if you don´t be careful. Go slow and learn how they work.

EDIT: Clearcoat applied. For some reason, paint around the headlights has come off. But that doesn't matter, as the headlights are going over it. :P

Nice clear. Maybe the clears thinner softened the paint were it was weaker. That happened to me before. I always try to give tevery coat enough time to dry before switching products, or even with same type of products if they are strong products.
