Tein Springs with what shocks/struts

yeah...anybody have Tein springs...not the whole coilover set up...just springs...what shocks/struts would be best compatible with them?...how do you like them...thats what im thinking about getting....thanks

Yeah, the AGXs are a good choice. Also look into the tockico illuminas or if you're not looking to spend the extra money for the adjustable you should check out the tockico blues, they are great for the money and for an everyday driver.

i think i might end up getting the TEIN full coilover set up...ive heard nothing but good things on it and its only like 800 on groupbuy.com.....wouldnt a full setup like that be better?

A true setup will almost always be better than other setups.

Depends on the car it's installed on, but I've ridden in my friend's '98 Civic EX coupe with Neuspeed Sports over Koni Yellows (should be a better setup than the KYB's) and to me it doesn't feel too much off from my Teins, but my friend tells me the ride with my Teins is MUCH better than his Konis and Neuspeeds.
Simply put, although I'd recommend a set up like yours over most others, you can't beat full true coilovers since the shocks are specifically valved and matched to the springs that go over them, each corner individually. With seperate shocks and springs, it's never like that, unless you get Koni yellows and know the exact numbers to get them valved at to match the springs you use, which can cost extra money. Companies like Tein and JIC and such already do that work for you. You can pay about $50 extra per corner for Teins though to get custom spring rates where they will also valve the shock accordingly to match the spring rate you get. I guess many people just don't know about this with true coilovers, and put them off because of the cost. True they are pretty expensive, but for those like myself that origianlly wanted Ground COntrols with Koni Yellows, it all would have come to about the same price anyways. Overall I feel it's well worth the money, and you wouldn't be dissapointed the slightest bit with them. If I was the do it again, I'd definitely get the Teins I have again.

tein is the shit, but he might be talking about the basic dampers because those retail for around 700-800

Ahh very true, I keep forgetting those are out now. I keep mine set right around the middle for the dampening ajustment on my SS coilovers (should be roughly the same level the Basic models come set at rebound wise) and then when I auto-x my car, I set them down to the stiffest rebound setting for maximum handling. Don't hit the streets set stiffest though, or else you're in for a ride that'll rattle your doors right on off. :p

haha, it's all good, yeah, Tein isn't the best no doubt, but their most expensive is up there with the best. Check out the Moton suspension systems at www.kingmotorsports.com :eek: That's a badass system!

I'm guessing it's the SS since the Type Flex is about $100-$200 more than the SS.
