Hello All,

A week ago my power-steering started squeaking so checked the fluid level and it was completely gone. I filled it back up and moved the wheel all left all right over and over.. thought it was fixed. However, as I drove for a bit it started to slightly squeak again as I turn. If I move it back and forth a few times it will stop for a bit. Is this something I need to have bled or will it eventually burp itself?
Also, will this damage anything if I don't fix it right away?

Thanks for any help!

keep moving sterring wheel back and forth may have air still in it? also may be the pump itself since it ran dry or belt.

good luck.......

Yup, just turn it full lock left to full lock right and back again a few times. It may be best to do this while rolling forward slowly.

Finally, I have found (at least with Ford and GM pumps) if the run dry for a while they become damaged internally and will subsequently be noisy.

If the fluid left at one point, you should be concerned as to why,
and where it went!
Obviously it will drain again if you don't find the cause.

Seems like that is more important than it being noisey...

Why wait until it is empty again?
Maybe more damage would ensue, never minding safety hazards..
