1996 Multiple Codes

150K miles. 2WD. Codes are 0141, 0151, 0154, 0161, 0300. It started with the 0151 and 0154 a few weeks back. I was waiting until the Christmas break to work on it. If I clear the two codes they would come back as soon as the truck got back on road again but it was only the two codes. I haven't cleared them for a while now and I have more. If I clear all these, only the 0154 and 0151 will return immediately, the others over a periods of a week or two. It leaks oil from a few places so I am going to be changing the intake manifold gaskets, oil pan gasket, timing chain cover gasket and tranny fluid/filter and I planned on changing the O2 sensor on the right before the cat because of the 0154 and 0151 but now with 0141 I am wondering if something else is going on to trip O2 codes on both sides. Not sure what to look for other than the O2 sensors. I changed pretty much everything in the fuel system and ignition system in May except the injectors. I was actually thinking I should replace them when I am doing the intake because the are right there. When should injectors be replaced as routine maintenance? Any ideas on what to look at for the other codes? I wouldn't think these are all separate problems. Thanks for the help.

those O2 codes tell me the O2 sensor heater fuse is blown. should be 20 amp.

p0300 could be anything on a 1996...converters , distributor bearing ,low fuel pressures.

154 code maybe sensor or wires. if fuse is blown check all wires for damage. repairing sensor wires can be tricky and cause the O2 sensor not to work correctly.

I didn't see what motor you have. Below is all for a '98 5.7

The only fuse in the system for all o2's is the ENG 1 fuse. #21 20a in the under hood fuse box.

Bank 1=Drivers side exhaust. Bank 2=Pass side.
Sensor 1=Pre Cat. Sensor 2=Post Cat.

P0141= Bank 1 Sens 1 Heater Performance. Most likely o2 sens, wiring or VCM.

P0151= Bank 2 Sens 1 Low Voltage. Indicating a lean condition on bank 2. Check fuel press, exhaust leaks up stream of the sensor, vacuum leaks and PCV system.

P0154=Bank 2 Sens 1 Insufficient Activity. Check for exhaust leaks upstream of the sensor.

P0161=Bank 2 Sens 2 Heater Performance. Same as P0141 just different sensor.

P0300=Random misfires. Fuel press, injection system and/or ign system.

The fuse is good. Tomorrow I will start checking things before I take it apart.

if the wires look repaired/spliced etc on the O2 sensor this is usually where this issue is created.

make sure the feed goes to the O2 SENSOR FOR HEATER.

fuse 1 20 amp underhood fuse box for both heaters.....if no connection problems then maybe a vacuum leak or faulty 02 sensors.could check voltage and grounds at sensors and also bias voltage from pcm on signal wire....that would tell you if wiring was okay especially the signal wire.

I used my poor man's Oxygen Sensor diagnostics tools and swapped both O2 sensors on the right with the left and the codes followed the O2 sensor after the cat so I will be replacing that. It looks original meaning it isn't a Bosch. Same manufacturer stamp that is on the Cat...AC.

Is changing the fuel injectors (about $230-250) worth the money on 96 with about 150K miles? This part last longer or are they prone to failure soon?
