O2 sensor and tranny question (possible relation?)

i have a 97 PA with 215k on the original tranny (second motor tho ). i just had my SES light pop on and it turns out to be the O2 sensor. is the pre-cat sensor considered the bank one sensor and the post-cat sensor the bank two?
also, would an O2 sensor failure cause any tranny problems? i'm having trouble accelerating highway on ramps that are uphill. i'm getting a hesitation and stutter as i accelerate. my initial guess on this is the torque converter, but wanted to see what you guys thought as well.

Post cat sensor is bank one sensor 2, no affect on performance, sensor one yes.
