I have a 97 S-10 p/u ext. cab it has a 4.3 W at 150,000 miles running very ruff I was told to replace the fuel injectors. My first question before I buy them and then replace them is this, it appears that the fuel pump regulator is part of this unit. If so does it have a vacum line on it since I have seen and old one and it does look like a line is connected to it. Agin I was told it does not have a vacum line to it and a new one is converted to not need one, so which is it yes it has one or no. I cannot see where a line runs through the upper intake to go to it. Yes I would be smarter to let an experienced mechanic fix this, but I am retired and want to work on it myself. Over the years I have rebuilt engines but those were carbuator no computer stuff just simple and to the point good ole days LOL. I hope to hear from some of you experienced 4.3 mechanics thanks.
The fue pressure regulator inside plamtium does not use a vacumn line.
Vacumn is applied from vacumn inside intake.
But I would do some proper testing before saying injectors are bad or replacing them.
Most good engine scanners have a bult in injector test.
Have you checked for proper fuel pressure?
You have to have good fuel pressure for injectors to work right.
