Let's see it

hey everyone im new to the forums. Im 17 and i just bought my first car, 96 honda civic ex. its black and pretty much stock, i just ordered some altezza tails and im ordering my cd/mp3 deck pretty soon. Anyone got any pics of their car that they could show me just so i could get some ideas for what i wanna do to mine. I intend on doing something original but I have no idea where to start.

oh and by the way, im considering getting just an exhaust tip for like 10-20 dollars. at the moment im just looking to get a nice sound, eventually i might get an entirely new exhaust, but not for a while. anyone have any positive/negative feedback as far as exhaust tips go?

First off, welcome to AF! I hope you enjoy using the forums here and I hope we can all help you! You seem off to a good start with your car, keep us posted on your mods. Here's a pic of my car (it's exactly like yours stock).

i was drivin around today and i spotted a pair of rims that i kind of like for sale, this guy is selling 4 rims with tires for a TOTAL of 200 bucks, im not sure what size they are, but do u think 200 is too little for rims? and do rims ever get weak or too old to use or anything?

I don't like you idea about the exhaust to be honest. A tip won't improve anything and it would be kind of pointless. You'd probably get laughed at to tell you the truth. Save up for a full exhaust! Or at least a full muffler.

As far as the rims go, I'd have to see a pic of them. His tires might not be too good if he's selling them for 200$. Check the treadwear on them. Also take a look at the rims up close. See if they are scratched. It's a good deal if there's nothing wrong with them...

Okay, I'll be nice this time....don't get a tip. It won't ad sound that would be noticable in the driver's seat and would look extremely cheesy. Just be patient and buy a cat back system when you save up enough. There are no positives when it comes to being a poser.

had the altezza's....thought about just a tip......got bit by the altezza bug. I went for a cleaner look and got the 99-00 lights (they fit fine on a 96-98) like Emerge has. Get the muffler. With the altezza's you'll get stereotyped and spotted quickly. They look ok on couple cars but seriously, do yourself a favor with only a set of lights and a tip, your asking for some harsh criticism. Tint, muffler, stock lights (stock or red/white), loose the emblems. No tire lights, no wiper lights, no wings. Keep it clean. Go through my profile and check out what my car used to look like with the taillights and plain windows. It looks so much better now! Clean out your headlights or get black housing ones. Do as much as you can yourself and you'll save plenty of money. Through these forums i've learned how to take off my front bumper so i could get the headlights out, and some other small stuff too concerning the interior. What color are the rims?

yes dont get altezzas, the 99-00 tail lights look so much better in my opinion

I would do a 99-00 front end conversion (Hood, fenders, Headlights, and front bumper)

alright so i wont get the tip, any ideas on what to get instead? im looking for a nice sound as well as an increase in HP, i checked out the catback systems but they are a little bit pricey for me seeing as how i only have a summer job at the moment.

also, are these the tail lights that you guys were suggesting?

also is there anything that i can get that can make it so you cant see right into my radiator? i can see right through the front skirt and i dont want to be able to.

I had a friend that bought it and sold his car so I bought it off him. They are discontinued now. They make replicas but off the top of my head I cant remember who does...search on ClubSi for "rear lip" and someone will have the link

Whats up Mr Civic. I'm in the same place you are but I've been researching alot. I know what I wanna do, but I dont even have my car yet ( I'm stuck with a big red Caddy). Anyway if your looking for ideas try looking at cardomain.com they have section for Civics with about 3000 or so pages. You can also make your own page there so everybody can see the progress of your car.
