Chev Aveo Lock Stopped Chirping

My wife's 2005 Chev Aveo has stopped chirping when she uses the remote lock. I've checked the fuses. I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and reconnected it. The horn works fine. The power door locks are all working just fine. Any advice would be appreciared. Is the chirp produced by a separate device or does the horn somehow produce it?
Thanks,
Grouseman

GM has released bulliten #06-08-56-001 for the hood contact switch and connector terminals getting corroded preventing the security system to arm. This may be your problem.

Thanks. Where do I find bulletin #06-08-56-001 and does it show where the hood contact switch and connector terminals are located? How do I know it just isn't the chirper not working? Do you know where the chirper is located?

The GM system chirps the horn. The switch will be along the area when the hood meets the body, under the hood. Possibly on the ft support towards the radiator, don't know for sure. It'll be a plunger type of switch that closes when the hood is closed. You'll have to go to you're dealer and ask for a copy of that bulliten, unless you can find it online.

Dear gmtech1. You are brilliant. Per your diagram I found and removed the hood switch. I checked it with my volt/ohm metre and it was not closing when I depressed the plunger. I took it apart and cleaned the contacts and it tested OK. I put it back in the car and everything works perfectly.
Thank you very much for taking the time to give me advice.
Sincerely, Grouseman
