Removing Windscreen Wiper Scratches from Windscreen

Put some new wiper rubbers on and it left a scratch on my windscreen. You cannot feel the scratch with your fingers and it is small, relatively light but it is annoying the hell out of me. Any ideas how to get it off? I saw an article on the net advising to use toothpaste, I tried that but it didn't work.
