freaky wipers

sometimes I hit the mist to sweep once and it will go three times, other times I turn on wipers and nothing happens. They'll go if I reach out and give em a start by hand, what would cause that?

GM part number 12463017 wiper board pulse module.

I believe GM is now replacing these under a national recall.

Take it to the dealer. There has been several issues with 92 and up GM s10 and full sizes for the pulse board module.
