1/2 ton vs 3/4 ton

I've heard that 3/4 ton pickups last longer and have fewer problems than similar 1/2 ton pickups. Assuming they are used in a similar manner, is this true? And what is the difference between 1/2 and 3/4 ton, other than heavier springs?

No its not true. How long a vehicle lasts depends on how it is driven and maintained. What Different? 3/4 tone has; Heavy Duty suspension bigger axles bigger brakes bigger engine available i.e. diesel High rated tires available, load range C thru load range E more towing capability more hauling capability lower fuel economy
