DIY Auto Shop

Greetings,
I am looking into the idea of starting a do it yourself auto shop in Lake County Illinois. I am trying to find out who would use this kind of shop and what kinds of tools they would need.




My shop would have:

lifts and tools
Welders
Tubing benders
Tire mounting machine
Sheet metal forming tools.
Mills
Lathes
Paint Prep area
Bead blasting
Paint booth
Powder coating
All of these tools and workspaces would be available to the public to work with for low hourly rates.

If you think this shop is a good Idea please post. I will also accept any suggestions regarding equipment, services, and hours.

A shop like this already exists near Joliet (http://www.selfserveautoshop.com) but nothing in Lake County.

So, did you ever do this? I live in Lake County Il and would like to know where you are if it did happen.
