Steering Stabilizer

2004 Wranger with the typical front end vibrations "death wobble" that is all over the web. Pretty much I learn as I go when I am fixing or dealing with things for the first time. So trying to see where the play is in the tires I jack it up and attempt to wiggle the front tire. The slightest bit of play side to side on the drivers side but I think that's normal? The passengers side I can by hand turn the wheel inwards and outwards by the amount that the steering stabilizer can contract and extend is this normal? The passenger tire moves independantly from the drivers side tire in this way. Should I be able to move that so easily or is the steering stabilizer bad and not providing enough resistance?

Well my DW was caused by a bad steering stabalizer after all. The bushings are all good through out and my problem was that the stabalizer was worn out and not providing enough pressure. Had the tires balanced as well and so far so good.

Apologies for the late reply, glad you found it; our 04 had the same thing, although stock suspension and tires. Installed new shocks as well as the steering stabilizer and it's been rock solid ever since.
