My friend has one of the box type stangs, "84 I think. Anyway, I asked him what engine he had in there, the 8, or the 6. And he says 4 banger. 4 cylinder?!?!!? is this true?

You know, I was talking to someone in Las Vegas about that and he was sure that even now they offer Mustangs with I4s. I wrote him off, but...

I know they don't have 4 bangers now, but this kid popped the hood on his stang, and there was this big engine bay, and an engine about the size of my civic's engine.

I can't imagine you'd mistake any vee engine for an inline.

Yes, they did have I4 Mustangs. The SVO turbo cars were quite quick for the time, as quick as the V8 models I think.

Yes, the inline 4 was available through 93.. when they changed to the heavier body style of the SN95, they dropped the 4 for a 3.8 V6.

There are some guys out there modding the 4's and running fairly quick.. I don't get it.. but it is their car.

Yes, the engine is a 2.3L Inline 4 cylinder. Last year for it in the Mustang was 93

From my experience they aren't very fast. But what is cool about them though is that you can pick them up for dirt cheap and drop a really nice windsor into it for a fairly inexpensive project.:bandit:

the I4's are damn slow i have one i use as beater! if you do a V8 swap they make a nice project, save lots on insurance and have a lower excise tax on them.
