yup,got a little problem...i wanna brush paint some interior details (backside of seats etc.) with tamiya Flat red.
bought the color 2 weeks ago, warmed it up in water like i do with spraycans and tried to brushpaint.
but the major problem:
i can't get that damn thing covered!it's like the color ain't thick enough:mad: :( any idea what that could be?i would need to get like 10 coats on there with brush to get an 50% acceptable result:(

I tried doing that b4. Didn't come out so well.
The thing I do is lets say I wanna paint seats. I prime the seats and then airbrush them Tamiya flat red. I use Tamiya flat colors for airbrushing interiors, since I hate and suck at brush painting them.
Pman said he uses enamels for brush painting since they tend to dry slower than acrylics. He also said that if you do it right they also won't leave brush marks like acrylics would. Pm him, he could help you.
Have you seen the seats in Pman's Enzo and Vantastic.
They were brush painted.

Red is a slightly transparent paint, so you have to prime it white and then airbrush it on. Otherwise, your brush strokes are really gonna stick out bad.

When you say mix - did you stir it as well? I sometimes find that I have to stir the paint with a toothpick and then shake the bottle gently to get a decent brush painting job on some Tamiya paints. However, I've on;y airbrushed flat red.

make sure you mix it up well, make sure you mix the paint which sinks to the bottom with the thinner that floats above.

Try priming the surface first, sometimes the acrylic paints don't stick too well to bare plastic.

Depending on the colour you are trying to cover you will need to have a undercoat on first.
If you are trying to cover black seats in red you will be there forever !!
I usually prime with a white undercoat or a silver base coat (like XF-16) works well also
