so the shifter on my 93 civic has a lot of play in it (yes its manual trans), even when in gear. if its in gear i can move it as if it was in neutral. ive been looking online EVERYWHERE for how to fix this problem and the only thing i can find is that my bushings are bad. well heres the deal.. its not my fuckin bushings, ive replaced them and put top of the line bushings in and it made absolutely NO difference in the play. any ideas on how to fix this? other than bushings?? because im really getting sick of hearing that everytime i bring the problem up anywhere because i know for a fact that isnt the problem..

Other than bushings, just make sure everything is tightened properly. If they are, try replacing the "bitch pin" that attaches the lower "arm" of the shiftlinkage to the transmission. The Honda part # is 94305-80222 It will only cost a little over $1 (list cost is apparently $1.25). It's listed as #28 on this image (big image or I'd post it instead of the link):

Straight from your local Honda dealership, or one of the many places that sell OE Honda parts online. Just tell them the part number I listed above (94305-80222), and if they don't have it in stock, they should be able to order it & get it to you in a few days (online stores will take longer than a local store). It's technical name is a "Spring Pin".
