Tamiya Taisan Starcard Porsche 911 GT2 1995 1/24

Hi everyone, I have not written here in Motorsports because, until now, I have done only motorcycle models.

For my first car model I decided to start with a classic Tamiya 1 / 24, Porsche 911 GT2 1995 Taisan Starcard. This is a curbside model and should not be too complicated.
For a great start I will start two models of Porsche, one for me and one will be a gift for my brother.

then I will give white primer...

More reference: https://picasaweb.google.com/carslegend/Porsche993GT2

I suggest that you remove the connectors/switches in front of the windshield before you paint the body. They are not very realistic in the first place, and they would look absolutely shapeless under a few layers of paint.

I painted the dash, black slightly diluted under high pressure so as to obtain a slightly rough surface. After I applied the decals and above the decals I applied DR. TOFFANO SYNTHAGLASS. This is a resin like glass.

In the pics you can see the dash at the top with synthaglass, the bottom one without... for me it's great effect :grinyes:

The interior of one of the Porsche is finished. I completed the second line fire extinguisher (the line passes under the dashboard). I made a electronic unit with plasticard (it's behind the drive seat), the last I completed the interior door.
I think that's enough for interior, now I will complete the interior of other Porsche...

zedred - the paint looks smooth - will both of these cars have the Taisan livery? - I like your coat-hanger painting stands - John

I had a problem with the paint, it was rough... so I used the compound, the paint was smooth but I've exaggerated and I removed the paint from the edges : Pianto: ... I had to repaint on with a final layer of paint very thin and this is the result... it's ok : Grinyes:

both cars will have the livery taisan, one with number 35 and the other with 33, there are some little differences

Yes... it's a coat-hanger, this is my first model car, so I don't have paiting stands, I had to look around

zed red - the paint looks fine - some people put too much attention into the paint - unless it is a pearl or mica or color-shifting - as long as it is opaque and even throughout it will be just fine. After decals are applied and then 2K clear -which I recommend-it will come out perfect. I am a great believer in letting the "painting system" do the work - all this paint polishing just to add a clearcoat is a waste of time provided there are no obvious flaws like crazing-orange peel-blushing etc. That is why I like urethane paints like "Zero" that even dull flat look throughout means you've got it right and just let the 2K clear bring up the depth and gloss factor. You are doing a great job if these are your first cars. I just received my Carrera RSR slot car bodies from Germany so I can build the "Flying Lizard" LeMans Porsches - John
