Hi

Hello to all!

Please I need an idea on how much it would cost to redo my transmission and should I take my truck to AAMCO?

Thanks!

To all!!!!

We do not know how extensive a repair you need number one, number 2 every AAMCO is an independent dealer, I would ask around for a reputable shop in your area not just choose AAMCo based on a known name. This could range from 1600-3000 especially 4wd. Also labor rates vary around the country.

Thank You!!!!!

So much!!!!!

Yes, I forgot to mention that I was driving and all the sudden something felt like it ripped from underneath the truck and I lost the transmission, I was only able to engage 3rd gear and also lost the reverse gear I was lucky enough to make it home on the 3rd gear.

Thank You.

Any other advice I will be grateful!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bravo.

I would have a look under there.
May be something else beside trasmission or transmission and something else to.!!!!!!!!!!!

On finding a repair place.
Check around Ask around
Word of mouth.
Family friends coworkers neighbors business people and delivery people.
Mailmen and parcel delivery people get around and notice a lot of stuff.
Even a good parts house knows what shops are good and not good.
Chamber of commerce and better business bureau and city hall.
If you find a good referral to a repair shop go look them over and talk to them.
Look for a clean looking busy place with nice people running it.
Ask a few questions and ask about their qualifications and training.
Not all places have trained tech/mechanics.
If they do not find a place that does.
Even all dealers do not have all trained techs/mechanics.
