So backing out a driveway and "pop"! lol Got it towed my tranny guy. He says I probably dont have 3rd gear either. When I put it in reverse its a wizzing sound but no movement. So hes going to rebuild it.
My question to you guys, what can I have done to build this thing stronger than before to last longer hopefully. Im at 141,000....always changed fluid and switch to Dexron 6 at around 105,000. So suggestions please.....

hopefully the repair shop will use high quality parts. many chinese parts are flooding the market .
synthetic fluid is what I have used since 1998. dexron III is a defective fluid GM finally admitted in 2006.
with a rebuild I would replace the fluid and filter after a few thousand miles. when transmissions fail these wear particles get into the rebuilt tranny to cause a faster failure.
also get a new torque converter and make sure the tranny cooler lines/radiator fluid lines are flushed clean .
check for leaks after rebuild often , and the fluid level for correct level on the same level parking spot when hot.
get a warrantee in writing at least 1 year.
