First things first, I have a 92 K1500 with a 305 in it. I went out hunting this morning and it drove fine parked it hunted all morning and went to start it and it wont start it cranks but wont start. So I hooked my scanner up to it and got code 54 which reads this: Fuel pump circuit fault or Mixture Control solenoid fault or Electronic Control Module fault/EGR #2 solenoid failure. Also it says, fuel pump relay.
Now this is my only vehicle thats why it needs to be fixed fast otherwise I am screwed. I am thinking where I am going to start is by replacing the fuel pump relay....but I cant locate it. I looked on the firewall on the pasenger side under the little black "box" it even says fuel pump relay on it but when I took the "box" off all that was there was studs with wires on them with a nut on top. No relay. So where exactly is the relay for the fuel pump on these pickups? I just put a new fuel pump in it in July so the pump itself should be fine. I will also add this it has been giving me somewhat of a hessitation when accelerating from a stop but then goes away, as well as when driving after letting off the gas pedal the engine kind of stumbles a bit and then idles back out to a normal idle. I know the fuel pump is not kicking on because when I turn the key I cant hear the fuel pump whine and kick in so that may be a factor. Am I starting in the right place by trying the relay first? Or do you folks think it could be one of the other faults listed in the code book?

Should be a jumper wire for the fuel pump near the power dist box. Sounds like a fuel pump cicuit issue, check the fuses, try powering it up with a jumper once you locate the relay. Check this link, http://www.justanswer.com/chevy/2kapi-92-chevy-truck-w-v-6-no-power-fuel-pump-one-hot-wire.html

Should be a seperate fuse for pump fuel behind the T shaped plastic cover on right hand side of firewall.
Find and check it.
Also find fuel pump jumper and use a fused jumper to jump 12 volts to fuel pump.
Let us know if pump runs and puts out pressure jumped.

I am no expert with your vehicle , however with the codes found I would use a voltmeter and check that in the dash ECM fuse. this fuse if blown will give the codes you got and also prevent fuel pump run..
the brake lights may be run also threw this fuse. if this fuse is blown you will have to check all the wiring for wear.
sorry to here a 20year old vehicle is all you can afford...wires when this old make owning these old vehicles a PITA>>>>>>>>.

Well its not actually my only vehicle I do have a 2000 blazer as well. But its broken right now and wouldnt you know it the thing thats broken on it is the fuel pump as well I just hadnt got around to replacing it yet. I am in college so money is a little tight right now but I have options....Once everything is fixed on both vehicles anyway.
