Newest member to the david-b, a 2012 Chevy Sonic LZ. I got tired of dealing with the POS Grand AM, so decided to upgrade. That thing had a lot of problems, including a cracked block, with no way to perminatly fix it.
Was car shopping and stopped at a Chevy dealer to see the Cruise, and got shown this one, and liked it right away. It's pretty much the same car as the Cruise, just more sporty and not as as effeciant. City is like 26 and highway is 36mpg or so. I wanted the 1.5L turbo with a 6spd, but would have to wait about 4 weeks to get, so test drove the 1.8L 5spd, and it feels the same, just not as torquey. Still a great, fun little car to drive.
The Sonic is not available in all markets yet, so very few on the road. I've yet to see another one on the road yet here. So right now, it's unique
Has Onstar trial, XM trial, power everything, averaging about 24mpg right now (all city), black/platnium interior, and the full connectivity package. I wanted the fog light/larger rims package, but there was non around with that option and with everything else I wanted. I may upgrade at a later time though.

Congrats on the upgrade man. Feels so good to drive something you dont have to worry about fixing/ or working on. Just hop in, hit the key. Cool deal. I havent seen one of those cars yet. Just based off looks, Im not too crazy about it, but then again, Im not too crazy about most any of the newer cars. Keep us updated on it

Not a HUGE fan of the looks myself, but better than some of there other ones out there. The hatchback version of this car... just looks bad. The front (to me at least) looks like a newer Lancer, and I like that.
The dash cluster is actually based off a motorcycle cluster. It's very compact and together. Wasn't a huge fan of that at first, but now I am. Very easy to read and everything all close, so there's no side to side eye moving to see stuff. All the controls for it are on the steering column.
The suspension on this car was designed and perfected by people who build the Corvette. It's very tight, great turning radius, and holds solid when turning sharp/fast.

Congrats on the upgrade man. I'm feeling the itch for an upgrade of the daily driver too but it's nice not having a car payment on the Cobalt...

I'm not looking forward to when the payments start kicking in. They're not too bad since I put a decent amount down on it upfront. But the insurance is a bummer too. But it's needed. Oh well.
I just seen that they're making a spoiler for the car now. If I can get that from the factory in same paint and installed by the dealer... done! And I really want the fog lights still.
