dissapointing new.. but not

Well, i got the new SPORT COMPACT CAR mag.. This month it featured the cars from 2Fast2Furious. And on the cover, it says in bold print : "We track test the movie cars - How fast are they really ?"
- So i flip thru the pages.. and read all about them. It seems on most of these cars, they didnt really do any drastic changes to the engines. Alot of it infact is stock. ( i guess cause they need bout 15 of every car.. it would add up :p ) But what really got me, are the 1/4 mile times. Some of em' were not as fast as i woulda thot they would be. The Supra and the Skyline are just about the same .. and get this - the Honda S2000 is faster than all the cars ! ( except the Yenko Camaro 1969 ) Funny to me.. anyhow , here are the 1/4 mile times for the main cars -

1) Supra : 14.5 1993
2) Skyline : 14.1 1999
3) Evo VII : 15.3 2002
4) RX-7 : 14.6 1995
5) S2000 : 13.9 2000
6) Yenko Camaro : 13.7 1969

In the mag, there is all the specs. on the cars ( each of em ) and also a bunch of stuff about the stunts they pull. And some other cool articles u guys and gals might wanna check out. Jus thot i'd share this w/peeps who havnt got the mag. :cool:

oh yea.. the not dissapointing thing was.. Some of you guys could easily be a challenge to some of the movie cars! ;) hehe

Shit...my old Turbo AWD Talon could smoke all of em...actually might be tied with the camaro...I sold it to a friend-All he did to it since I had it was redo some of the fuel system and put a larger upper IC pipe and it's in the high 13's god I miss that car..

Not too furious :o or replace the cars in that movie w/some realistic cars like some nice modded' 4th gen civics maybe ?? :D how often do u see a Nissan Skyline cruizin round' the streets ? anyhoo - im still waitin for that "QuatroNoza" Movie to come out. Looks like it should be better and ALOT more realistic than "Fast and the Furious" :)

Your first mistake is believing anything out of that magazine....

They mess up on the simplest tech info. Its only good for the pictures on occasion, but I rarely waste my money on it. I don't know whats more ricey, the mag or the movie.

I'm still in the dark about the whole "fire out the exhaust" thing. Why are they still stuck on that shit??? When has fire ever been a good thing outside of a combustion cylynder? I dunno about you, but when my Chevy caught on fire, I wasn't too happy about it. I had to waste my 20oz Sprite to put it out. :mad:

Has anyone seen the trailer for this POS movie? It moves so fast, but I swear to god I thought I saw Tyrese's Eclipse drifting alongside the skyline....WTF??? I swear if it is, I will stand up in the movie and throw my $6 soda at the damn screen.

I dunno if I'll even waste the money, maybe I'll go to the matinee show. I'll probably be able to avoid the douche bags who burn out in the parking lot too.:rolleyes:

- Sports Compact Car mag yer talking about ? I dunno, i kinda find it hard to believe their info would be that much inaccurate. If it was a cheap-o , non-name brand mag, id understand.. like if Fast & the Furious made thier own mag :p or some new p.o.s 30 page mag came out w/black and white pages.

Im w/you on the fire thing tho.. i'd never do that.. there could be a padestrian walkin his dog right behind you or somin.. all u see is him runnin round' on fire in yer rear view Mirror :rolleyes: or accidently use it at a gas station or somin :bloated: And u know what ? i didnt even notice this.. but it doesnt have an ariticle for the Eclipse in here.. ( i dont care for em' so i didnt notice i guess ) lets hope the skyline was just coasting or somin ;)

I've only seen the fire thing once in person....

This guy had like a mid 70's camaro with the flame kit and he's chillin by the McDonald's. So we're sitting across the street at 7/11, and he fires up the Camaro. Im like, ok thats cool, but then this big ass flame shoots out the rear and catches the playland netting on fire. Needless to say the cops were all over him.

It was good for a laugh though. I could only imagine if someone had been standing there. :p

the fire exhuast thing looks good if done tastfully. i saw a 30's something mercury, flame paint job and spitting only around a foot or less of flames from the pipe, it was very sick looking indeed, it looked awesome.

the only time flames ever look good coming out of an exhaust is when the car is making so much power that you get a belch of flames during a power shift hehe

and i actually think sport compact car is worth every penny. they have project cars that they apply tasteful and useful mods to, and although they do have usually a higher budget than the average person, it still gives you good ideas, and highlights shops and products that are worth their money.

for me, it's much easier to get 3 bucks and read a magazine and daydream about owning an STi or an Evo, or even having the money to make my 4g4d cool than to get the large amounts of cash it takes to do big things to my car or buy a new car...

car magazines are the only thing that keep me going through the cold winder months at university of idaho... and the cold winter months last the whole damn school year!

I dont think their tech is up to speed...

The $3000 Silvia conversion? Right, maybe in a perfect world. The power pages are garbage, and all the feature cars are sloppy seconds from Super street. I take it for what its worth.....eye candy.

Dont feel bad, because Import tuner is worse

the only cars that look good with fire coming out the exhaust are the older style cars about 50-. And also the 2F2F cars are made for looks only, they might have a CAI but thats about it. To me its not gonna be worth it. Ill wait till the first Fast and the Furious comes out on that special DVD and then sell the ticket it comes with for like 8 bucks :D

Tyrese's Eclipse does not drift alongside the skyline....i dont' want to ruin it for u guys so i wont say any more lol. I saw the sneak peak FREE preview on Base.

all i got to say is if i go to a movie to see some sweet fast cars i wanna see some sweet fast car
if i wanted hot special effects
i'd go see x2 and the matrix reloaded again
accually, i am gunna go see em again
