both headlights just went out!

Headed to work this morning and noticed my lo beams were not working. The hi beams and parking lights do work. I pulled both bulbs out, put them in my dads truck and they worked just fine. Fuses pulled and are ok as well. Relay seems to be clicking and working. Could it be a multifunction switch? The display pops up and says that headlights are recommended...maybe some kind of sensor is shot.

What are you working on?

Wasn't working on anything. I got in the car (2008) and was going to work in the morning and then noticed the headlights would not come on. The bulbs are good because i tried them in another vehicle. Brights work, turn signals work...I'm thinking the headlight switch must have went out. I have it at the shop this morning so I'm sure I'll wish I could have found an answer here first.

It was the relay module. I should have just went and bought one at Auto Zone. Would have saved a lot of money. Was charged $50 for the relay and $62 for labor/shop parts. What a rip-off. That's why I hate going to a dealership.

What is your problem? Your car is fixed.....they diagnosed it and put it in and only charged you $62.....you should have done it yourself and put the headlight switch in like you wanted to....and then you probably would have found some way to blame the dealership for you putting in the wrong part....

He was going to replace the multifunction switch, the stealership replaced the relay that latches when you turn on the high beams. That would not have repaired the problem of having no low beams. But I could be mistaken? $50 dollars for a relay what a rip. That is why at all costs I stay away from the stealerships.

Geesh...Just gave my honest opinion about the dealership or stealership (good one). They always charge way more than a regular shop. Guess I should quit "complaining" I should have known better than to take my car there again. It would have cost about 30% less easily if I would have stayed away from them like I will do in the future.
