when these vehicles have cold start problems you check the fuel pressure must be 60-65 psi . using a pressure guage.

the DTC failure codes are most likely wire damage to / at the O2 sensors causing the fuses to blow.

thanks for the reply iwill tell him to have fuel pressure checked.do you know if each bank has a seperate fuse?he told me the other day that he had the fuel pump changed last year.surely a new fuel pump should last longer than a year.once he gets it started it runs great he says anyway.he is a eldery gentleman but i think he should know the difference from talking to him.if you think of anything else that might help would be appericated.

thanks charles

the wires to the O2 sensors need to be checked for proper connection and security... the fuses being blown will give these codes. since all these sensors are throwing these codes I wouold guess the O2 sensors are not connected.. just give=ing you the full check out info.

on poor start the fuel pressure will indicate if the fuel pump is defective by doing the proper tests..

new fuel pumps made today do not mean good...actually any part made today must be tested if possible before install..with fuel pump pressure test after install to ensure proper operation.

If the fuel pump installed was an AIRTEX PUMP this would explain why the pump is bad with only one year since these have been reported to fail out of the box or after a few months of use.

problem is since this is going to be worked by someone else, make sure the repair shop are not crooks. they will prey on older people and women..

In answer to the separate fuses for each bank. NO. All o2's are powered by one fuse.

Really need to clear the codes, drive it and see if they come back.
