I am in the middle of locating alternate rims for my 00 MGM for winter tires. So far I could not locate identical rims at a reasonable prices.
However I located Crown Vic rims with winter tires mounted already.
But I am not sure if they would fit.
The 2000 MGM rims have a 70.6mm center bore
The '95 to 02 Crown Vics have a 70.3 mm center bore and all other dimensions indicate that they would fit the 00 MGM
The center bore difference is only 0.3 mm or less than 1/64th.
Would a Crown Vic wheel with the 70.3mm center bore fit, because of manufacturing tolerances?
MGM Rim Dimensions
15x4.50in - 5x114.3mm (Bolt circle)
Low/Med 0-20mm (offset)
OE 16in x 7
70.6mm (center bore)
20 Teardrop type
1/2inx20

I believe Pre-'98 Panthers used 15" rims since they had the smaller disk brakes. In '98 they stepped up to 16" rims because of the bigger disk brakes. You can even use later 17" rims, however they have a different offset. You will need 1.5" hubcentric adapters for original spacing. It's what I used to mount 17" 2005 Mustang rims on my Grand Marquis and zero problems so far.
Do you want the original teardrop style or would you be okay with the black steel ones used on police interceptors which can be had at many junk yards for cheap?
