I have a 1981 Buick Skylark V-6 with an ECM 1224810 CO and I got a replacement ECM 1224810 FX from a 1981 Omega 4 cylinder what do I need to watch for?

You can watch for it most likely not to work, 4 vs 6?

As far as I can tell both units are the same as it runs fine and is rich on idle and lean on high speed.

The same but is has the the wrong fuel curve?, so now what, they are not caibrated the same, no?

Could be, but at least it runs leaner at high speed than if you have no computer at all this should save fuel as far as timing I have no idea what it actually does.

If the ECM number is same, should be able to use it....just have to transfer the PROM, or in some cases, there may be a knock sensor "module" also to transfer......
