And I'm taking a 12 hour trip this winter and I don't want problems. I have changed just about everything down to the crank angle sensor and idle controller. Do the coils ever go bad? Or the module? 225000 Miles and never changed. Fuckin ay. If nobody has ever had any problems with them I'm not gonna mess with em since there hella expensive. Any advice would help guys thanks

Since those two items are not regular maintenance items, my advice is if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Do they ever go bad? The answer is "yes." Will it go bad on you? Impossible to say for sure. Is replacing then going to ensure that they don't fail on your trip? No, I've seen new parts fail after several miles. It doesn't happen often but it does happen. I know that these are not necessarily the answers you may be looking for but it is nearly impossible to say whether out not a part is going to fail on you if there are no signs to suggest that it will. Unfortunately these two parts do not usually shows signs of pending failure.
