I have a 02 Pontiac Bonneville that is throwing a code p1071. I have changed the MAF sensor, O2 sensor, air filter, fuel filter and the spark plugs. It is still coming up with that code. We have checked all the vacum lines as well. Any one have any idea what the problem could be? My husband is at the end of his rope and has no idea where to go from here!!

Sure you typed the right code?

Sure it wasn 't P0171?:banghead: This is a system lean code....if this is the case have you checked for vac leaks with carb cleaner.....if you did a tuneup, did you pull the PCV valve and forget an o-ring? What is the fuel pressure?

Whenever you have P1XXX, that is a vehicle specific code by the manufacturer, so I'm assuming that it's similar to P0071, which is your ambient air temp sensor, which I believe is the sensor in the snorkle to the throttle body.....

Yeap your right i typed the wrong code. But the code is a system to lean bank 1 code. He has checked for vac leaks with the carb cleaner and no luck. He only changed the plugs not the wires.

Are there any symptoms happening, besides the CE light coming on?

Misfire, hesitation?

Some times it seems as if it isn't ideling high enough and quits then when i restart it i give it some gas and its fine. My cousin put his computer on it and he said bank 1 o2 sensor 2 is running to high. It was running at 99.3?!?!? my husband works on diesel trucks and feels liek he is out of the loop when it comes to cars.
