Car leaking fluid what is it?

Hey I have 2004 Ford focus hatchback ZX5 and its leaking a fluid near the driver side by the engine. The fluid is clearish and odorless and it only leaks when the car is driving. It is directly below the battery and windshield fluid input. The battery appears to be wet. Any ideas what it is or how to test it?

Welcome to the forum!

Does the fluid evaporate over time, or does the puddle remain on the ground unless you clean it up? Have you checked the fluid levels of things like the power steering pump and the brake master cylinder? Does your car have a manual transmission with hydraulic clutch, and if so, check the level of the fluid in the clutch master cylinder. Is there any corrosion taking place where the fluid has been running down the engine compartment?

The puddle evaporates over a couple minutes. I am 100% sure its not gasoline, I think its antifreeze because it has little to no odur, leaves no stain, and feels like water with a bit of an oily texture. Its not the brake it is definitely leaking from near the top of the engine. Their is no corrosion, and its not from the transmission as its not near that area.

I took it to canadian tire and the mechanic says its washer fluid. So I guess I wont bother fixing it, cause its not too much that is leaking and its probably cheaper just to refill it every so oftan.

Could also be power steering fluid. It is a very light oil that evaporates/absorbs into concrete fairly fast.
