2001 T&C AC Compressor is going...knocking when turned on. Can I run my heater and defroster with a failing AC Compressor. How can I bypass the compressor and what size belt would I need?

it'll be ok as long as you don't press the ac button

If you run the defroster it will automatically kick on the compressor regardless of whether you hit the a/c button or not.
You can buy a bypass pulley, I think rockauto.com has them.
It's easier to just unplug the wires at the compressor so you will be assured it won't come on. That is, of course if your existing compressor's pulley still spins properly.
Your defroster won't work as well though, because the benefit of having the a/c compressor running is that it pulls out the humidity.
